Frequently asked questions
Is HalloAmt official from an authority?+
No. HalloAmt is a private form-filling helper. We fill in the official forms for you, and you submit them yourself to your authority.
What does it cost?+
You can try it for free and check the first page of your completed form before you pay. The finished download costs 8.99 € per application or 24.99 € per month for up to 6 applications (cheaper as a 3-month package). Particularly extensive forms like housing benefit (Wohngeld) cost a one-time 24.99 € and are not included in the subscription. For these, the first section is free, and it continues after purchase.
Is my data safe? Where is it stored?+
Yes. Your data is stored on servers in Germany (Frankfurt) and is encrypted. To fill in the forms, an AI from Anthropic is used — for this, your chat texts are transferred to and processed in the USA, but not used for training. You can delete your account and all data at any time.
Do I need to speak German?+
No. You write in your own language — the chat understands over 50 languages — and the form is still filled out correctly in German.
Is this legal advice?+
No. HalloAmt helps with filling out forms, but does not replace legal advice. For legal questions, please contact a counseling center or a lawyer.
Which forms are available?+
All over Germany: Child benefit (Kindergeld) and child supplement (Kinderzuschlag), the renewal application for basic income support (Grundsicherungsgeld, formerly Bürgergeld), and unemployment insurance certificates for work abroad. Housing benefit (Wohngeld) is available in selected cities. There's also the housing entitlement certificate (Wohnberechtigungsschein) in Hamburg and Berlin, the registration (Anmeldung) in Berlin, as well as Education and Participation and the residence permit in Landkreis Harburg. The forms page shows you which forms apply to your location. We're always adding more.
Why should I pay if the forms are free?+
Because you're not paying for the form — you're paying for the help. The form itself is free at every authority (Behörde) — we link to it directly. With us you get: every question explained in your language, your answers translated correctly into official German, a check for missing required information, a completed PDF ready to print, and a checklist of extra documents you need to include with your application. This saves you time and prevents follow-up questions from the authority that could delay your application by weeks.
Where do I enter my code?+
You enter your promo code (discount or voucher code) in the Stripe payment window, the last step before paying. There's no field for it on halloamt.de itself. You need an account. Here's how to get there: once all your details are in the chat, tap “Create final PDF”. Or choose a product under “Pricing”. On the payment page, check the box for the terms and conditions and the box on your product's card, then tap “Order with obligation to pay” there. In Stripe, tap the link to add a promo code: on a computer it's on the left under the subtotal, on a phone it's under the price. Enter the code and confirm. You'll see the new amount before you order. If Stripe shows a window to log in to Link, you can also pay without Link. If your voucher is worth 8,99 € (the price of a single application), it makes the single purchase free. For extensive forms like housing benefit (Wohngeld) (24,99 €) and for the subscription, it's deducted and you pay the rest. A 100% code also makes an extensive form free. You can only unlock an extensive form with the “Extensive form” card, a single application doesn't cover it. For an additional application for subscribers (3,99 €), there's no field for a code.
